ROCKFORD — Meet My Shoes recently received a $1,000 grant from the Walmart Community Grant Program.

The grant will be used to proactively address community poverty, namely underserved veterans and residents, in the Rockford region. The goal is to serve those in the community who are willing to improve their lives through "Hunger Campaign 2020."

Meet my Shoes is a local nonprofit whose mission is inspired by soldiers who journey together on different streets, pathways, junctures and brooks yet united in service on the same missions.
